“The survivors shared their memories with us and gave us a glimpse of the horrors they faced.”

Please tell us why you think it is important for young people to learn about the Holocaust and other genocides

Why do you think that it is important for young people to learn about the Holocaust and other genocides?

To help the younger students at our schools learn about genocide we’ve written a booklet that features the stories of survivors for them. At the end of the activities we’re asking them to tell us why they think it is important to learn about the Holocaust and other genocides. We wondered if you could help us inspire them by answering the question for us please? The response that you give us will help our project enormously.

After the Holocaust the world said ‘Never Again’. Unfortunately, since then, the world has forgotten again, again and again. Genocides in Cambodia, Bosnia, Rwanda and then Darfur have shown that the world has not learned.

In addition to this young people’s understanding about genocide, crimes against humanity and other mass atrocities is not good. We hope to change that through our project and hope that you can support us along the way.

In the box below please tell us why you think it is important for young people to learn about the Holocaust and other genocides.
